Thousands of visitors turned out for the opening of a new swimming pool in Wolverton in Milton Keynes this weekend. Mayor Catriona Morris cut a ribbon to mark the occasion, before an estimated 1,600 people put on their swimsuits to take a dip on Saturday and Sunday.
Approximately 4,000 people passed through the doors to take a look around during the weekend. The new facilities include a 25-metre pool for general public swimming. There is also a sauna and steam room.
– Councillor Peter Geary, Milton Keynes Council
"This is a fantastic new facility for Milton Keynes ... We are continually aiming to improve the leisure offer in Milton Keynes and there will be more to come in the future.”
