Runners gearing up for Milton Keynes Marathon

Organisers say they're expecting thousands of runners to take part in this year’s Milton Keynes Marathon.

The 26.2-mile run takes place on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May. World record holder Stephen Richardson from Milton Keynes will be competing this year. He is now the proud holder of the Official Guinness World Record for Fastest Marathon Dressed as a Sailor. He managed it in 2:52:32 at the London Marathon last weekend.

There is also the opportunity for younger people to take part in a shorter event on the same day.

“All our competitors from world record holders to fun runners should be admired for their commitment. But this year we have some special younger superheroes setting off in their own shorter event after the marathon runners have set off.”

The Superhero Fun Run is a chance for those of all ages and abilities to complete approximately 1.5 miles. They can walk or run and will cross the finish line ahead of the marathon runners.

Entries to the Milton Keynes Marathon will be open until 30th April and for the Superhero Fun Run until 9.30am on the day.
