Bedfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses after shots were fired at a car in Luton last night.

The incident happened just after 9pm. It's believed two shots were fired by a man riding a motorbike who aimed at a black BMW. No one was injured but there was damage to the car.

Police say the occupants of the vehicle then gave chase and the motorcyclist collided with two unconnected vehicles. He then made off on foot.

Police have searched the area but were unable to trace the offender. It is thought he may have been picked up by another vehicle.

The incident follows a peace rally in the town which was organised in reaction to a number of recent stabbings and shootings.

Roads remain closed at the junction of Fountains Road, New Bedford Road and Culverhouse Road while police carry out forensic examinations.

Anyone with information should contact Bedfordshire Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
