More than 50 families have helped celebrate the first anniversary of The Kindling outreach centre in Conniburrow, Milton Keynes.

The outreach centre, which forms part of Conniburrow Children’s Centre, was opened in April 2012 to provide services and activities for families in the local community. These include a weekly community café, a Citizen’s Advice Bureau service, a young parenting course and English language classes.

“The Kindling has been a fantastic hub for the community and has been extremely popular since it first opened its doors in April last year. The outreach centre recognises the need to provide outreach work for the whole family and offer better opportunities to help increase the life chances of children in the local area.”

“The outreach centre provides a space for local people of all ages to meet, learn new skills and work in partnership with their peers and other agencies to make a positive impact for them and their families. We hope that it will grow as more families take part in the activities on offer, get to know the team and meet new people from their local community.”
