On the 73rd anniversary of the battle of Dunkirk, the Association of Dunkirk Little Ships have sailed into Ipswich for a special memorial event.
A service of Thanksgiving and Commemoration has been taking place at the town's Haven Marina.
Soon to be 94, war veteran Bernard Sharp from Ipswich was rescued from Dunkirk from one of the small Ships. Mr Sharp says he feels lucky to be alive.
Visitors to the waterfront have also been given the chance to look around some of the ships
In May 1940 some 700 small boats joined the Royal Navy in evacuating 338,000 British and French troops trapped in Dunkirk. These vessels became famous as the "Little Ships" and many have been preserved.
