This year ITV News Anglia is once again joining forces with the Daily Mirror to find the individual you think deserves to be crowned our Local Hero 2013.

We're looking for those who go the extra mile to be a real force for good in their neighbourhood - they could be volunteers or professionals who go way above and beyond the call of duty.

They're the people you just want to say a big 'thank-you' to and to showcase their story here on ITV. People like last year's winner in the Anglia region, Rob Harriman from Luton. His work as a community warden saw him nominated and eventually win the regional title.

Once again the award will form part of the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards, which will be screened later this year on ITV.

Our Local winner will attend the star-studded Pride of Britain awards in London in October when the overall Local Hero winner for the UK will be unveiled.

The ITV Local Hero Award is our way of saying thank you to that person who you know is really special - a friend in need, someone who helps to change the little things that make a big difference not just to you, but to others in your community.
