Latitude kicks off weekend of fun in the East

Around 35,000 people are expected at this year's Latitude Festival in Henham Park in Suffolk.

Bloc Party are headlining tonight (Friday), then tomorrow it's Kraftwerk and on Sunday Foals.

There's lot of other events happening in our region over the weekend, in Peterborough the Levity comedy festival is underway. The three day event at The Embankment features some of the biggest names in comedy.

Tonight the headline act is Al Murray, on Saturday it's Lee Nelson, and on Sunday it's Omid Djalili. Other acts throughout the weekend include Richard Herring and Stephen K Amos.

Elsewhere, History Live is taking place at Kelmarsh Hall in Northamptonshire. Over 2,000 re-enactors and performers bring two millennia of history to life at the English Heritage property.

Colchester Carnival takes place tomorrow. To celebrate the 50th birthday of Colchester Zoo, this year’s procession will have the theme 'Animals on Parade'. A fun day will be held on Castle Park.

And the Suffolk Punch Horse Society is holding its annual event at the Euston Estate in Suffolk on Sunday.
