Norfolk paralympic swimmer Jessica-Jane Applegate has struck gold at the World IPC Championships in Montreal, Canada - and broke a world record in the process.
The teenager from Great Yarmouth turns 17 later this month. She won the women's 200 metres freestyle final S14 class. Her winning time of 2 minutes 09.88 seconds was quicker than her own previous world mark of 2 minutes 11.47 set in Sheffield earlier this summer.
Jessica-Jane, who has Asperger's Syndrome, became one of Paralympic Team GB's swimming stars at last year's London games. She won gold at the Aquatics Centre in the same event after coming fourth in the 100 metres Freestyle final.
Jessica-Jane is also scheduled to take part in the Women's 100 metres Backstroke (S14) and the 200 metres Individual Medley (SM14) in Montreal.
