We've all been hearing about the threat of snow in the UK this week, although at this stage we are not expecting any significant snowfall here in the Anglia region. But it's likely we'll see some wintry showers over the coming days as it's tuning very cold.
Temperatures will be below average for the time of year, with some places struggling to climb past 5C during Tuesday. Combined with a brisk northwesterly breeze it will feel more like -1C.
The temperature may appear higher on Wednesday but the winds will be stronger, this time coming from the north, so it will feel just as cold.
By Thursday the wind is expected to turn to a northeasterly direction, which means colder air will feed in from Scandinavia, making it feel more like -3C.
So it will certainly feel like winter this week and some places are likely to see rain/sleet showers and the odd snow flurry, but as for digging out the sledges and buying extra carrots for the birth of new snowmen...you may need to wait a little while longer.
