Anglia Weather: Windy with sunny spells and occasional showers

It will be another windy day in the Anglia region with sunshine and scattered showers. The showers will be blustery and heavy at times, especially this morning, but there will also be sunny periods in-between the showers.

Maximum temperature 10°C.

Tuesday night

Clear spells and scattered showers before cloud and outbreaks of rain spread north. The rain will be heavy at times, moving away later with drier and clearer conditions following.

Minimum temperature 7°C.

Yellow Weather Warning

There is a Met Office Yellow Weather Warning in force in Essex including Southend and Thurrock for heavy rain. It is valid until 6am on Wednesday 8 January 2014.

"Heavy showers, some of them combined with hail and thunder, will continue to affect parts of southern England at times through the rest of Monday, Tuesday and early Wednesday.

The public should be aware of the risk of further localised flooding, especially in areas which have been affected in recent days."

Wednesday

Mainly dry through the morning with bright or sunny periods. Through the afternoon becoming cloudy, with outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain arriving. However, some eastern areas may remain largely dry.

Maximum temperature 10°C.

Outlook

Thursday rain quickly clearing, with bright, breezy and mainly dry conditions following.

Friday cold start, then dry and bright.

Saturday starting dry and bright, before cloud and light rain arrives.
