An internationally-renown surgeon, who has this week taken over as Papworth Hospital's chairman, says its move to a new Cambridge site will help it become the "world class centre" the UK needs.

Prof John Wallwork hopes to make the building of a brand new hospital at the Biomedical Campus the focus of his three-year term.

The project is set to take three years once proposals are given the final go-ahead but the chairman believes the trust is "very, very close to getting everything aligned, making the decision, and getting on with it".

Earlier ITV News Anglia's Jonathan Wills spoke to Prof Wallwork and began by asking him why the move was so badly needed.
