Now into his 12th month, you wouldn't know how difficult Maison's first year has been.

He was born with a very rare form of cancer, which didn't show up in scans when mum Lizzi was pregnant.

Maison's dad, Louis, discovered a lump when Maison was two days old.

Chemotherapy started a week later.

In April last year, Maison had the growth removed in a 10 hour operation, and he's now nearing the end of his treatment.

"It is nice to see him just being a normal child.

I can see past the medicines now."

– Lizzi Sutcliffe, Maison's mum

Maison's now been given the 'Little Star' award from Cancer Research UK for his bravery.

Well, Maison's a little boy who was born with cancer, which is really unusual.

His whole life he's been prodded and poked, and he's been incredibly brave through it all.

His parents are obviously really proud of him."

Now that he's nearing the end of his ordeal, Maison even had time to show off to our camera - walking for only the second time in his life.

Maison is now cancer free, although there's still a long way to go.
