A 21-year-old man, arrested in connection with a series of car crashes in Norwich’s clubland, has been charged with a number of offences.

James Berryman, of St Andrews Close, Old Buckenham, faces six charges in connection with the incident which happened at about 1.45am on Prince of Wales Road.

Berryman is accused of drink driving, dangerous driving, using a vehicle without insurance, driving without a licence, failing to stop for police and aggravated vehicle taking and damaging property.

Norfolk Police say four vehicles were damaged during the incident in the early hours of Saturday, including two taxis and a police car. A taxi driver, who was sitting in his vehicle, suffered minor injuries.

James Berryman, of St Andrews Close, Old Buckenham, faces six charges.

Berryman has been released on bail with conditions not to enter Norwich city centre between 7pm and 7am and to observe a night time curfew between 9pm and 7am. Berryman will appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on Monday 17 March.

Norfolk Police say a second man arrested, the 22-year-old passenger, has been released on conditional bail until 4 March while inquiries continue.
