The police and crime commissioners for Norfolk and Suffolk are on a collision course over plans to merge the forces' control rooms.
Today public consultations have started in Suffolk, which could lose its control room if a decision is made to combine the two at a single site in Norfolk.
The proposals face opposition from Ipswich MP Ben Gummer, who says the control room should remain local.
But Suffolk's Chief Constable says there is a good business case for moving it and believes Suffolk residents would be well protected by the new arrangement.
