The man in charge of the Tour De France has been in Cambridge to assess the conditions for the race in July.
Christian Prudhomme who is the General Director of the tour was at Parkers Piece in Cambridge.
He was there as the start of stage 3 was marked out and also travelled to Essex and London to see other parts of the route.
Officials say that in the build up to the arrival of the Tour detailed information will be given to residents, businesses and visitors regarding the impact of the race on the area.
