£46 million has been handed out to a number of businesses in the region to help create jobs and promote growth.
It's part of the Regional Growth Fund and ministers, including the Business Secretary Vince Cable, were out in force to promote it.
Automative engineering specialists Millbrook in Bedfordshire are getting nearly £2 million. The money will be help provide new facilities for research and development in advanced propulsion and emissions. The company also plans to create 45 new jobs.

The Fund has given £90 million to 13 projects across the Anglia region over the past four years.
The Yarmouth and Lowestoft Enterprise Zone was set up in 2012 and aims to create 1,500 jobs and secure £20 million by next year.
Dutch firm Venko Offshore relocated here last summer. It's just secured a £5 million contract to maintain offshore gas platforms in the North Sea.
