Anglia Weather: Thundery showers or outbreaks of rain developing, locally very heavy

Bright or sunny intervals and scattered showers, becoming heavy with thunder, and later this afternoon may merge into areas of very heavy and thundery rain. Generally feeling humid, although cooler along the coast with possibly mist and low cloud later .

Maximum temperature 25°C.

It's possible that Monday may be the warmest day of the year so far. The highest temperature recorded in the Anglia region so far in 2014 was 25.9°C at Santon Downham, Suffolk on 19 May. The highest UK-wide temperature this year so far is 26.3°C.

The hottest place in the Anglia region on Sunday was Writtle in Essex with a maximum temperature of 25.3°C.

Tonight

Showers or longer spells of rain this evening, perhaps thundery, will slowly die away overnight. Dry and clearer conditions will follow, along with perhaps some patchy fog.

Minimum temperature 13°C.

Tuesday

Any early fog quickly clears. Then sunny spells and remaining predominantly dry, as only isolated afternoon showers develop. Feeling fresher compared to Monday, but still pleasantly warm with light winds.

Maximum temperature 23°C.

Outlook

Generally dry with sunny periods, light to moderate winds, and becoming warmer again. However, sea-breezes will often keep coastal areas cooler than inland.
