Police have launched an investigation after finding the body of a man in a house at Sudbury.
Police were called by the ambulance service to a property in Lucas Road at around 10:30am on Monday July 14 after a report that a man's body had been found inside one of the flats.
Although formal identification of the man has not yet taken place, he's believed to be in his 40s.
A couple of residents said the man lived in the ground floor flat. They said he kept himself to himself, but one neighbour said, the last time he saw the man he was walking back to his flat on Thursday evening and he had blood on his face.
Residents have been shocked at what's happened and at the level of police activity. Neighbours were not allowed to re-enter the building until around 3 o'clock while forensic experts and police carried out their investigations. One lady who lives in the same block said the area is an extremely quiet and pleasant place to be.
It's still unclear exactly what happened or when or how the man died. The death is being treated as suspicious, but locals say they did not hear or see anything unusual.
The body has been taken away for a post mortem, which will be carried out Tuesday 15 July.
