Roadworks remaining over the August bank holiday weekend:

A47 / A1042 Jct (near Norwich) Major junction improvement. There will be an eastbound lane closure and a 50mph speed limit in operation - 3 miles of roadworks - Nil to slight delays expected. Reason roadworks cannot be lifted for bank holiday: Traffic management remains for safety reasons due to construction adjacent to lane 1 of A47.

A1065 to A134 (near Thetford) Construction of new carriageway and refurbishment of existing. There will be a 40mph speed limit in operation - 19.2 miles of roadworks - Nil to slight delays expected. Reason roadworks cannot be lifted for bank holiday: Temporary safety barriers installed for the protection of road users and construction workers and the 40mph speed limit is to ensure safety within the temporary barrier tolerances.

M1 J10a (near Luton) Improvements to the roundabout. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place - 1 miles of roadworks - Nil to slight delays expected. Reason roadworks cannot be lifted for bank holiday: Ongoing excavation and construction work ongoing.

A14 J31-32 (near Cambridge) Carriageway realignment and widening There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit in place - 1.5 miles of roadworks - Nil to slight delays expected. Reason roadworks cannot be lifted for bank holiday: Traffic management remains for safety reasons due to construction adjacent to lane 1 of A14.

A14 J7-9 (near Kettering Town) Widening the dual carriageway to create an extra lane in both directions There will be narrow lanes and a 40mph speed limit in operation - 2.5 miles of roadworks - Moderate delays expected. Reason roadworks cannot be lifted for bank holiday: The contra-flow system is fully operational to provide the necessary working space for the safe construction of the main earthworks and to maintain two running lanes in each direction.

This bank holiday weekend, over 98 per cent of motorways and major A-roads in England will be clear of roadworks.

This will be a great help to people travelling during the holiday with roadworks lifted, more lanes open and many of the associated speed restrictions lifted.
