Hamilton will get to officially drive the car for the first time today when pre-season testing gets underway at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain.

After a highly successful season all round in 2015, our priority has been to to identify the areas we were weakest and improve them.

We had a number of races that didn't go to plan in 2015 - Singapore in particular - so there were a lot of things that needed improving for 2016. We are seeking optimisation absolutely everywhere.

– Paddy Lowe, technical chief

According to Mercedes, the new model looks very similar to its predecessor from the outside but does feature a number of "mini revolutions" that the team believe will help keep them ahead of the field.
