Former lifeboat lifted to final resting place in maritime museum

She was called out more than 60 times in 14 years and saved 26 lives. So it's no wonder dozens turned out on the streets of Sheringham in Norfolk today to see the return of their former lifeboat, the Atlantic 75 which served the seaside town between 1994 and 2008.

Thanks to a £1million Heritage Lottery Fund grant the Sheringham Museum has been able to create space for the boat and craned the one tonne boat into the second floor today.

The Atlantic 75 completed her service in Northern Ireland until she was retired in 2008 and donated to the Sheringham Museum. The full display should be open to the public in July 2016
