Investigation launched after man dies at Go-kart track in Suffolk

A man in his 60s has died after apparently being thrown from a Go-kart at a racetrack in Suffolk.

Emergency services were called to the Ellough Park Raceway near Beccles, yesterday afternoon (Sunday) following reports the victim was unconscious and not breathing.

A rapid response vehicle, two ambulance crews and the Essex Air Ambulance were dispatched to the scene before police arrived.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance service said:

"The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust received a call at 3.19pm yesterday to Benacre Road, Ellough, to a report of a man being thrown from a go kart.

A rapid response vehicle, two ambulance crews and Essex Air Ambulance were dispatched.

They treated a man in his 60s who was unconscious and not breathing.

Despite their best efforts, the patient sadly died at the scene"

Suffolk Police are currently liaising with Waveney District Council as an investigation into the man's death takes place.

So far there has been no comment from the racetrack.
