A Norfolk school has gone from being "in special measures" to "outstanding" in one jump.

Eastgate Academy in King's Lynn is one of only seven schools in the country to make the leap in consecutive inspections.

The poor rating was given before Eastgate Primary became Eastgate Academy.

CWA Academy Trust took over three years ago and has turned the school around while working with the same teaching staff.

The Ofsted report stated pupils receive both an outstanding academic education and highly effective support for their emotional well-being.

"It doesn't matter where they come from, what their starting points are children can do brilliantly and, if the school supports them to do that, then there's no limit."
