Northampton Saints flanker Tom Wood is in line to win his 50th cap for England in their Grand Slam decider against Ireland this weekend.

The 30-year-old has been named among the replacements for the clash at the Aviva Stadium.

England would set a new world record of 19 consecutive wins with victory and would also seal their second unbeaten Six Nations campaign in a row.

Saints hooker Dylan Hartley will captain the side as usual, while Courtney Lawes keeps his place in the second row.

Wood made is first appearance for England back in 2011, but found himself out of the set-up in recent times after he was initially overlooked by Eddie Jones.

I congratulate Tom Wood on his personal milestone

He is a committed team man, who has fought his way back into this set-up and has been a great contributor to the team on and off the field. He works very hard and it’s a great reward for him.
