Bishop in Easter message of love and compassion

Christians from around the region have been filling our churches to celebrate Easter Sunday.

Bury St Edmunds cathedral was among many places of worship to be full for the traditional Easter procession and service.

In his sermon the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, The Rt Rev Martin Seeley, told the congregation that human love could counter the many evils currently confronting the world.

What I see even in the face of some of the most horrendous events that we've witnessed recently...is the outpouring of peoples' love and compassion following them.

There is something instinctive in us about love and compassion and that's what the Easter message is.
