Disabled man and carer named as victims of house fire

Two men who died in a house fire in Lowestoft have been named.

Andrew McInnes, 60, who owned the house, and William Cooper, 62, known as Billy, both died after flames tore through their home in Stanley Street.

Mr McInnes was said to be a wheel chair user and Mr Cooper was his carer.

The fire broke out at about 1am on Monday 26th June 2017.

Fire crews managed to rescue the men and they were taken to the James Paget University Hospital at Gorleston, but both later died.

Suffolk Police said the fire is not thought to be suspicious.
