Long diversions as four-vehicle crash closes M11

The M11 in Essex is closed northbound between junction 7 for Harlow and junction 8 for Stansted Airport due to a serious collision involving four vehicles.

Essex Police are on scene and managing this incident.

Highways England is advising drivers to follow the "Solid Black Triangle" diversion symbol and exit the M1 northbound at J7 onto the A414.

Due to the lengthy diversion road users are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.

Details of diversion around M11 crash

  • Continue on the A414 through Harlow until the A10.
  • At the A414/A10 roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A10 northbound.
  • Continue along the A10 through Ware, Thundridge, High Cross and Collier's End.
  • At the A10/A120 roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A120 through Standon, Little Hadham and re-join the M11 at J8.
