Manchester United defender Regan Poole has joined Northampton Town on a season-long loan.

The 19-year-old moves to Sixfields after playing for the U23's at Old Trafford from the age of 17.

Poole joined United from Newport County, where he broke into the first team under current Northampton manager Justin Edinburgh.

Regan is a player I know well from my time at Newport County and he is an exceptionally talented player," said manager Justin Edinburgh.

I gave him his debut as a 16 year old and he is a player with a fantastic temperament and someone who is well ahead of his years.

We are delighted he has committed to spend the season with us and I am very pleased to welcome Regan to the club.
