Hydrotherapy baths, vibration pads and mental calming sessions all sound like the perfect spa day.

The latest in four legged fitness centres in Newmarket has cost millions and is attracting customers from far and wide.

The centre is set in more than two hundred acres of land at Cheveley close to Newmarket in Suffolk.

The investment by Sheikh Fahad, the chairman of Qatar Racing, has provided modern stables, paddocks and gallops, covered walkers and water treadmills.

They sit alongside historic buildings from the original Longholes stud, housing hi-tech equipment for equine welfare.

They have been operating for only three years but word is spreading about Longholes.

"We have clients now from across Europe. I had a horse flown over from Dubai, so it's becoming more and more well known for rehabilitation.

"Sadly not all are repaired and I think we all live in the real world. But the majority do make it back to the trainers and the majority do make it back to the racetrack. And that's very satisfying."
