Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has admitted he's a big admirer of his Luton Town counterpart Nathan Jones ahead of the Carabao Cup meeting between the two sides tonight.

Both teams go into the match at Kenilworth Road on the back of opening day league wins, with Luton thrashing Yeovil Town 8-2 in League Two and Ipswich getting their Championship campaign off to the perfect start courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Birmingham City.

Ipswich will be wary of falling victim to a cup shock after Luton knocked out Aston Villa at the same stage last season, and McCarthy says his team will need to be at their best to get a positive result.

I've always admired the way Nathan Jones' teams play.

They play a diamond and he gets them playing well. He had a good season last season, narrowly missing out on the play-offs, and they've started great so it will be a really tough game.
