Firefighters say a blaze at Southend Airport is under control and almost extinguished.
The fire started in the Air Livery hangar on the north side of the airfield. It did not have any aeroplanes inside at the time.
The airport has remained open and operating as normal while six crews tackled the fire.
Firefighters are using thermal imaging cameras to find remaining hot spots to ensure they are fully cooled and extinguished.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "A full investigation will be carried out to find the cause of the fire, however at this stage we believe the fire started accidentally."
