A team of paddle boarders from Bedfordshire are celebrating after completing a 24 hour river trip.

The team of six paddlers from the Viking Kayak Club set off along the River Great Ouse from Kempston yesterday morning and finished at Earith today. They paddled overnight, and weathered a large storm, but said luckily no one fell in.

Richard Evans, Bel McConnell, Martin McConnell, Dom Milner, Ashley Heritage and Mikey Reynolds are raising money for Sue Ryder Trust and to raise awareness of the Bloodwise charity.

The six and their support team covered 45 miles and hope to raise well over twelve hundred pounds for the two charities. You can find out more by clicking here.

It got a bit difficult during the night when we couldn't see very far in front of us because it could be quite dangerous if you hit a log. Luckily no-one fell in though.

Before the marathon effort the longest any of the team had paddled for was eight hours.
