£200,000 appeal to extend Suffolk nature reserve
- Video report by ITV News Anglia's Natalie Gray
An appeal has been launched to buy 77 acres of land to extend a nature reserve in Suffolk - famous for kingfishers.
Suffolk Wildlife Trust is hoping it can raise the £200,000 needed in time to mark the 30th birthday of Lackford Lakes near Bury St Edmunds later this month.
The land hasn't been cultivated for 25 years and so it is gradually returning to Breckland heath which makes it attractive to ground nesting birds like the rare stone curlew and skylarks.
