Nine engines were called to the scene to try to put it out.

No one is believed to have been hurt. It is thought the pub was empty at the time of the fire.

It is not known what caused the fire.

The owners say the business will be closed for a period of time and they will be in touch with customers with bookings.

"We’ll focus on re-building just as soon as we can.

"We are confident that The Ingham Swan will be back better and stronger than ever before.

"Meanwhile, we will be in touch with our customers who had booked with us at The Ingham Swan just as soon as we can and hope some of them might consider dining with us at our sister brand, The Wildebeest in Stoke Holy Cross”.
