A school in Cambridge is giving pupils chess matches as part of their weekly timetable in a bid to help their development.
At Cherry Hinton Primary they believe teaching children the board game gives them skills they can use in other subjects.
It's a scheme supported by the charity Chess in Schools and Communities.
One of the school's chess success stories is 10 year old Kian Dharmasena who recently came third in his category at the British Chess Championships.
