  • Ipswich Town v Sunderland

Mick McCarthy's men may be coming off the back of a loss but it was a 'terrific performance' according to the manager. They face Sunderland tonight after a thrilling game against league leaders Leeds United where they came so close to picking up a result. It was a blunder from goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski which was the pivotal moment at Elland Road but McCarthy will keep faith in his number one tonight. He'll have to once again go without Flynn Downes who's kept out due to a thigh injury but captain Luke Chambers should play despite a knock to the ribs. A win tonight could take Town up to 4th depending on other results.

The Canaries last encounter was far from a thrilling one but the 0-0 draw against Bristol City did mean Daniel Farke's side have now kept 4 league clean sheets in a row for the first time since 2001. Tonight they head to Middlesbrough who they haven't played since the play-off final win in 2015. City haven't beaten tonight's opponents away from home since 1988 and they'll have to try tonight without Mario Vrancic, Marco Stiepermann, Steven Nasimith and Russell Martin who are all out injured. Main main Nelson Oliveira could be back but is likely to be on the bench to start.

Peterborough United's dramatic 3-2 win over Wigan Athletic on Saturday was their 1,000th in the Football League, and they'll be looking for their 1,001st tonight as they take on Oldham Athletic away from home. The hosts will have Richie Wellens take charge on an interim basis after John Sheridan left by mutual consent yesterday. Posh could go top of the League One table with a win.
