A Suffolk racecourse which received numerous complaints about rowdy behaviour after it staged a Little Mix gig will no longer sell children's tickets for evening music events.

The chart-toppers played the Newmarket Nights event back in June attracting 22,000 thousand young fans and families.

Some fans were left upset after fights broke out among some people in the crowd, despite the event being billed as a 'family event'.

At the time organisers of the concert apologised to those who were affected by the public's behaviour.

Now the venue says "customer feedback" is behind the change to stop selling children's tickets for evening music events.

Based on customer feedback our Newmarket Nights events will have a number of improvements made to the terms and conditions of entry.

One of the changes to be implemented will be that children’s tickets will not be available for any evening music events next year. Other changes will include the renaming of the Family Enclosure to the Garden Enclosure as another example of how we would like to position Newmarket Nights going forward.

Insight in the form of feedback from our racegoers has been particularly helpful when looking to improve the on course experience and I am grateful to those that have taken the time to work with us and offer their suggestions.

We have a number of family friendly events throughout the summer at Newmarket Racecourses, including our popular Summer Saturday’s series and also our racing plus music afternoon event, Summer Saturday Live, which will have an allocation of children’s tickets available.
