Adminstrators for the Luton-based carrier Monarch airlines have told ITV News Anglia that the carriers customers remain "their number one focus."
The Civil Aviation Authority now say around 860,000 customers are affected by the carrier going into administration. This includes 110,000 who are currently abroad and 750,000 with future bookings.
At it's headquarters at London Luton Airport, adminstrators KPMG said despite all staff being emailed in the early hours of this morning, they regretted the fact that some staff had learnt the news from the media.
