One of Britain's oldest hardware stores is celebrating its 150th Birthday.
Goldings Ironmongers in Bedford first opened in 1867 and now some pieces of its history are on display in a special exhibition at the Higgens Bedford museum.
Despite competition from big DIY superstores and internet shopping, Goldings is still going strong.
With 35,000 different products in stock, it has earned a reputation for variety.
Vic Warner first started working at the store when he was 15.
Customers have been shopping at Goldings since 1867 and keep returning because of the customer service.
It was the first commercial premises in Bedford to have gas central heating and originally had its own forge for metalwork.
The business will soon be taken over by Chris Temple, who is keen to keep up its reputation.
