Anglia Late Edition is the regional politics programme for the East of England presented by political correspondent Emma Hutchinson
Anglia Late Edition looks ahead to next week's Budget, talks about the latest news on the Brexit negotiations and hears from Members of the Youth Parliament from the East of England.
Chancellor Philip Hammond will deliver the first autumn Budget in 20 years on Wednesday 22 November 2017.
It is likely to be make-or-break for the Conservatives beset by political problems and two Cabinet resignations over the past few weeks.
Mr Hammond's last budget in March saw a rapid u-turn after he was accused of breaking a Tory manifesto pledge not to increase National Insurance.
A number of Conservative MPs in the Anglia region have been branded Brexit mutineers because they are unhappy with elements of the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill which is current being debated in the House of Commons.
Emma Hutchinson was joined in the studio by three politicians from the East of England.
- James Cleverly has been the Conservative MP for Braintree since 2015
- Baroness Angela Smith in the Labour leader in the House of Lords and was a Basildon MP
- Pete Reeve is the Ukip councillor from Cambridgeshire
Members of Youth Parliament took the place of MPs on Friday 10 November to debate a wide range of issues from gay rights, votes for 16 and 17-year-old, transport and work experience for young people.
They were welcomed in the Commons by Buckingham MP and Speaker John Bercow along with the Leader of the House of Common Andrea Leadsom, who is also the Conservative MP for South Northamptonshire.
A number of MYPs appeared on Anglia Late Edition:
- Isreal Genius from Southend, Essex
- Ayesha Khan from Peterborough
- Imogen White from Essex
- Harvey Luker from NW Norfolk
- Rachel Ojo from Essex
