Chris Page has joined the ITV News Anglia Weather team working alongside Aisling Creevey
We've been getting to know Chris on his first week as a weather presenter for ITV News Anglia and it turns out he knows the region quite well...
A bit about me
I’m a local boy to the Anglia region, being born and bred in Norwich, Norfolk.
In 2013, after completing my Physical Geography degree at the University of Reading and travelling around the world for six months with a friend, I joined the Met Office.
I started my career within the Met Office customer centre dealing with public weather enquiries. From there I went on to complete my meteorologist training spending some time at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire and with the Army Air Corps in Wattisham, Suffolk.
I later moved into the Met Office Media Team based at the HQ in Exeter, where I worked closely with the ITV weather team briefing the regional and national presenters. Some of you may recognise me from the Met Office app where I used to regularly present or from Channel 5, where I formed part of the main weather team with Clare Nasir for the past year.
During my time at the Met, I was lucky enough to do some overseas forecasting in the tropics on Ascension Island for the military. Here I spent six months on a tropical island, a thousand miles from land with another 600 people. Forecasting here was brilliant and could sometimes be quite a challenge!
It’s a great pleasure for me to be working back in my home region and I’m looking forward to seeing your photos and videos to help me tell the story! Whether you’re out and about on a Sunday stroll, or caught in a downpour, send them in and I hope to share as many as possible.
Of course if you’ve got any burning weather questions I’ll do my best to answer them or if not I’ll definitely find out the answer!
