The six finalists for the East of England Co-Op Local Producer award have been announced and they're a mixed basket of foods.

From potatoes to pesto, chocolate to eggs, the family-run companies all supply to the supermarket.

"It just means that our customers love what we do. That's the most important thing to us. It's fundamental that people love our products and love our business. They're supporting. We want them to support us, that's what makes us work every day, what makes us try harder, what makes us go forward. It's exciting times here at Gnaw and we're really proud of this achievement"

"We've given some suppliers a route to market they wouldn't otherwise have had. We give them loads and loads of help in packaging, distribution. Also labelling because that's quite key with allergies, sorting out barcodes. And it's clear that local food sells. I'll give you an example. Over Christmas we sold 22 tonnes of local sausages"

– Roger Grosvenor, Joint Chief Exec, East of England Co-Op

You can vote for your favourite local producer on the East of England website until the end of the month. The winner will be announced in March.
