Police are searching for two teenagers following an attempted murder in Colchester.
A 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Osborne Street in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but is was now in a non-critical condition.
Officers are keen to talk to Tate Heeney, 17, and Ben Goodspeed, 18, in connection with the incident and have warned members of the public not to approach them.
“This is a very serious incident, which resulted in a substantial injury to the victim," Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Rob Kirby said.
"We would like to speak to both Ben and Tate about what happened and ask them to get in contact with us or come in to their nearest police station.
“Likewise, if anyone has seen either of the teenagers or has any information about where they are, please let us know.
“Whilst we don’t believe they are a threat to members of the public, if you see either of them, we advise that you don’t approach them but instead call 999."
