Samson handsome again after being stripped of paint

A statue of the strongman Samson that once stood outside a Norwich nightclub has been stripped of 60 layers of paint to reveal a stunning 17th century oak carving.

It's taken 3 years to restore him and now a crowd-funding campaign has begun to pay for Samson to go on display at the city's museum.

Fibre glass copies of Samson and his Greek equivalent, Hercules, currently stand outside the converted dance hall where a whole generation of Norwich people met their sweethearts.

Below is a report by ITV Anglia's Natalie Gray.
