300 protesters brought traffic to a standstill in Long Melford in Suffolk during a march against housing plans.

An application for 150 homes to be built on the outskirts of the village has been submitted to Babergh District council.

A group called - Save our Skylark Fields - fears the size of the site might pave the way for a further 750 homes to be built. They say the development is just one in a long line to have sprung up in Long Melford and they've had enough.

"The infrastructure of the village can't take it, on a Saturday, you can't park a car in Long Melford, it's like that every day of the week as well... we won't have any places at the local school, places at the doctors surgery, the roads aren't sufficient to take all this traffic... we just feel this is unfair."
