Man, 67, suffers serious injuries in Cambridgeshire road rage attack

A 67-year-old has been left beaten and bruised after being set upon in a road rage attack in Cambridgeshire.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw what happened in Ramsey Road, Pondersbridge, at around 10.40pm on Friday 2 March.

Victim Philip Wetherilt was driving a Ford Transit in icy conditions when he clipped a silver pick-up truck, knocking the wing mirror off.

The truck driver responded by pulling him out of his vehicle and hitting him in the face several times - leaving him with serious injuries which required hospital treatment.

The offender is described as white with short brown hair. He fled in his truck.

“This was an extremely nasty assault that has left the victim with serious injuries and in a lot of pain.

“We would urge anyone with any information about this incident or who thinks they know the driver of the truck to contact us.”
