Police issue CCTV appeal in Northampton stabbing

Police have released CCTV from the night a man was stabbed in Northampton Credit: Northamptonshire Police

Police investigating a stabbing outside a jewellers in Northampton have released CCTV images from the night it happened.

Officers want help to identify these men after a 25-year old was stabbed in the stomach at Abington Square just before 9pm on April 3.

The victim needed surgery following the attack.

Police said he had travelled into town on the number one bus and was followed when he got off. He was stabbed following a verbal confrontation outside Steffans Jewellers.

The offenders then ran back up Wellingborough Road.

The first offender, who stabbed the victim, is described as white, aged in his early 20s, slim and about 5ft 7in.

He was wearing a light-coloured hooded top with the hood up, under a black jumper, with black trousers.

The second man was white, aged in his early 20s, about 5ft 8in with short dark hair. He was wearing a black jumper and light-coloured joggers.
