Colchester United have made Cheltenham Town midfielder Harry Pell their first signing of the summer.
The 26-year-old, who was born in Essex, has agreed a three-year contract and joins for an undisclosed fee.
Pell was part of the Cheltenham side that gained promotion back to the Football League in in 2016 and made 134 appearances in total for the club.
"I fully believe that this is the place for me to develop my career and I want to help move the team forward," Pell said.
"I'm an Essex lad, so it's like coming home really. The family are buzzing and will no doubt come to games and become Colchester fans."
Meanwhile, midfielder Drey Wright has left Colchester to sign for Scottish club St Johnstone.
