A museum is collecting stories from people who settled in Bedford as part of the Windrush Generation.

The Higgins is hosting an exhibition called 'Paved with Gold' - celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Empire Windrush ship arriving with immigrants from the Caribbean.

The museum team are hoping to collect stories and hear the experiences of people who arrived in England.

The exhibition, developed in partnership with the museum's Black History Panel, will open in October.

The museum is working in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire and Nubian Teachings to provide oral history training to volunteers assisting with the project.
