Peterborough United manager Steve Evans and striker Jason Cummings have both been nominated for the monthly League One awards.
Posh picked up maximum points in August to top the early league table.
On loan Nottingham Forest forward Cummings was a big part of their success, scoring six goals during the month.
He is up against Portsmouth's Ronan Curtis, Barnsley defender Dimitri Cavaré and Sunderland midfielder Lynden Gooch for the player prize, while Evans will have to see off competition from Walsall boss Dean Keates, Sunderland manager Jack Ross and Portsmouth's Kenny Jackett.
Meanwhile, MK Dons manager Paul Tisdale has been shortlisted for the League Two award following an unbeaten start to his reign.
The winners will be announced on Friday.
